Hiring Process
You are God's Masterpiece - Ephesians 2:10
We believe God has uniquely gifted you for His purpose, and our hiring process is designed to help both of us determine if this role is the right fit for you at this time. We value your time and approach every step of the process with intentionality. If at any point we sense the position may not be the best match, we’ll be sure to communicate that with you. Similarly, if your interest in the role changes during the process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at HR@rivervalley.org.
Our team will review it and see if your skills and experience fit the role.
A member of the HR team will reach out and schedule a time for a video call to get to know you a little better. They will want to hear about your relationship with Jesus and what drew you to the role. This is an opportunity for you to ask general questions around what it's like to be a team member at River Valley Church. `
This will be our first opportunity to meet you in person (when possible) and get to know you a little more. You will be asked a variety of questions based on your past job experiences and what you will bring to this specific role. This is also a great time to ask questions about the role to someone in that department/team.
When applicable, we may ask you to engage in a tool(s) we use to help evaluate your skill set in a tangible way. This may be by performing speck work, completing an assessment, or other similar tools.
This interview will be focused on diving deeper into your style and approach to work as well as how you work together with a team. For Pastoral roles, we will discuss theological similarities and potential differences to ensure we are aligned in our approach to ministry.
For key leadership roles or those times when we are having a hard time deciding between some amazing candidates, we may add a third interview involving key leaders in our organization to help us discern who our top candidate is.
Once we have made our decision, we will send you a written offer letter with full salary and benefit information. Now it will be up to you to pray through that offer and decide if you also have a "yes".
