OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Our heart at River Valley Church is to show the love of Jesus through our generosity. This Christmas season we are stepping into the giving spirit and helping those in need by partnering with Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We ship these simple gifts to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  1. Pick up your Operation Christmas Child box at your campus beginning October 16th and 17th.
  2. Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.
  3. Select a medium to large “wow” item such as a soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then fill with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies.
  4. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.
  5. Return your packed shoebox to your campus lobby by November 7th.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE ONLINE

You can build a shoebox online without leaving your home. These shoebox gifts will go to restricted access areas, some of the most spiritually dark, closed countries of the world. With a few simple clicks, you will bring joy to the heart of a child by selecting toys and other fun items (and include a letter and photo if you’d like). Be encouraged to start building your shoebox today and help us meet our goal of 100 online shoeboxes by November 7th.
