Day 6: Global Project and Sending 500 Missionaries

Reaching the entire world with the Good News of Jesus Christ is a big task, but it’s what Jesus asked all his followers to do.

Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. (Matthew 9:38)

In Matthew 9:38, Jesus asked His followers to pray for more missionaries, for more who are willing to be sent to those who have never heard.

For many, it is hard to imagine but still today, billions have never heard the Gospel. In fact, 42% of the world’s population is still waiting to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ for the very first time. They have not rejected the Gospel, they just have never had anyone share it with them.

It is because of this incredible need and Jesus’ command that River Valley Church has a vision to raise up and send out 500 individuals, couples and even families, who are willing to go overseas for at least a year and pray about a lifetime, so that those who have not heard might have access to this beautiful Gospel.

In addition to the 93 missionaries we have already sent out, River Valley church sends teams of volunteers each month to travel around the world for a week or two to help meet physical and spiritual needs and share the love of Jesus Christ. Our heart is global, and it is our prayer that every person in our church would go on a Global Team.

Prayer points:

  • Pray for more people to join the 93 missionaries that have already said, “Lord, here am I, send me.”
  • Pray that 2018 would be the biggest year yet for Global Teams, allowing hundreds of people at River Valley to experience God’s presence in every corner of the globe.
