Each one should use whatever gift they have received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s Grace in its various forms. (1 Peter 4:10)
What does this mean for us? It means each of us have been given a gift. That gift, or talent, has been given to us by God, to be used for Him, to show the world His grace. Too often we, as
Christians, feel ill-equipped to do something substantial for God, but that is just not the case! We serve a God who created you (Gen 5:1-2), knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and has given you everything you need to show the people around you who God can be in their lives.
This is absolutely incredible to think about! You are uniquely created by God, for His glory!
But it doesn’t even stop there. Ephesians 2:10 says that we are “created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do!” So not only are you created with a gift, but God has already lined up a place for you to use that gift and be effective!
This is what’s incredible about the church, we don’t all have the same gifts. Notice the end of 1 Peter 4:10, “…God’s grace in its various forms.” Because there are so many different people in this world with different gifts, talents, and interests, God has equipped each of us differently so that His grace can be shown to everyone!
Your gift is important! God has set you up to be successful and show His grace to the World. Fulfillment in life comes from doing what God created you to do, where He created you to do it, to lead people to Him!
- Pray that God would show you the gift He has given you.
- Pray that God would show you where to use your gift for His glory.
- Pray for the faith and courage to step into the place He has created you for!
